Dr Angelina Zubac
Angelina has worked at over 100 business, government and not-for-profit organisations, and over ten universities across Australia in a career spanning over 30 years. She spent over a decade working on strategic management and risk management projects in the financial, energy and public sectors before concentrating on consulting and teaching strategy more broadly through her boutique consultancy, Strategy Link.
She has a long history of board membership. Notably, she is currently the Chair of King's Own Institute's Research & Scholarship Committee and is a member of its Academic Board. She was on the Academic Board at Central Queensland University. She was a board member at Emerge (formally Chronic Fatigue Australia) and a committee of management member at the Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre. She has contributed to the effectiveness of a number of other university committees, assisting with learning & teaching, course development and OH&S committees. She regularly acts as a subject matter expert in the development of strategic management courses. All of these experiences have helped her immensely when providing consulting advice, as well as when conducting research, working on writing projects and teaching senior executives.
Angelina is experienced in and adept at teaching strategic management, global strategy, innovation management, lean entrepreneurship, organisational change, marketing and has taught in other areas of management, such as professional development and industrial relations. To stay up-to-date with the latest research, she has attended and presented many papers at many conferences. She attends the Academy of Management Conference each year. She regularly presents papers, acts as a leadership and paper development mentor, and organises, runs and speaks at caucuses and symposia at this first tier conference.
She is published in a range of scholarly and professional journals. In recent times, she was the lead editor of a special issue for Management Decision on the strategy and change interface. She was also the lead editor and author of the book of edited chapters for Palgrave/Springer Link, Effective Implementation of Transformation Strategies: How to Navigate the Strategy and Change Interface Successfully. She is currently working with an international team as the lead editor and author on The Palgrave Handbook of Strategy, Change and Transformational Project Leadership.
Angelina is particularly interested in understanding how strategies get implemented, conducting multi-level and multi-discipline work in the area of strategy and collaborating with change management and project specialists to this end, developing theory of the firm related concepts and understanding how strategies with conflicting priorities get implemented, including in situtions when social mission and/or environmental priorities at not-for-profit organisations need to be balanced against the organisation's economic sustainability priorities.
She has been teaching management students at universities across the country for over 25 years, including DBA, MBA , Master and undergraduate students. She frequently teaches MBA and Master students at University of Queensland and the Australian Institute of Management. She has taught at Bond University, CQ University (Melbourne campus), Monash University, Victoria University (Melbourne and Malaysia campuses), Australian Catholic University (Melbourne and Sydney campuses), Melbourne University, Canberra University, Swinburne University, and Australian National University.
